Knowledge is the Key to Sustainable Agriculture

Mikrokreditno društvo EKI and Mikrokreditna fondacija EKI, in cooperation with the European Fund for Southeast Europe (EFSE), are implementing a project to promote sustainable agriculture by providing specialized training for clients in the field of sustainable agriculture, aiming to strengthen the knowledge and capacities of agricultural producers.

Through this training cycle, clients receive practical support through knowledge sharing and demonstrations of best practices, enabling their production to become more stable, resilient, and sustainable in the long term. The trainings are conducted with expert guidance from a consultant engaged through the project.

• The first training cycle was held from May 15 to 23, 2025, in Gradiška, Modriča, Zenica, Sokolac, and Tuzla.

• The second training cycle took place from January 21 to March 6, 2026, in Gradiška, Zenica, Bijeljina, Orašje, Gacko, and Brčko.

Through expert lectures and open discussions, topics such as modern sustainable practices, efficient resource management, and adaptation to climate challenges were covered. The active participation of clients at all locations confirms that investing in knowledge is the key to the long-term stability of agricultural production.

In parallel with client trainings, a large number of credit officers across BiH also participated in the program. The goal of this training was to further familiarize them with sustainable practices and their significance, so that they can provide better guidance and support to clients in implementing sustainable solutions in their daily work.

The project is implemented in cooperation with EFSE, with financial support from the European Union.
