Primary School “Danilo Borković”, Gradiška

With this story, we begin a series of posts on Socially Responsible Activities that the Microcredit Organization EKI carried out during 2021.

The primary School “Danilo Borković” is located in Gradiška, in the settlement of Senjak. It was built in 1979. It is a nine-grade school attended by around 820 students. Currently, the school has 87 employees (teaching staff, technical staff and professional associates). The school is located in the wider city center and is rather well-equipped, but the gym and changing rooms needed to be renovated because they were in a very poor condition.

Our contribution was in the purchase of materials for the rehabilitation of problematic parts of the gym, and then in the purchase of materials needed to paint the walls in the gym. Also, play balls were procured, as well as a football and basketball nets.

This project included a large number of children, who are certainly one of the most vulnerable populations in our communities. Given the fact that helping children and youth with the aim to improve their living conditions and teaching activities has become our duty and pleasure, we are glad to say that with this modest contribution we have enabled students and employees of this school with the opportunity to have classes of physical education of much better quality.
